Lead: We pattern our leadership after the example of Jesus Christ. We invite and encourage all youth and Young Adults to participate in seminary and institute.
Take time as a leadership team and counsel with the stake presidency to set a realistic and meaningful goal for increasing institute attendance in your stake in 2026. Your coordinator can provide you with attendance data from 2025 and potential lists for 2026 to help.
What will our approach be to Gathering Weeks in 2026?
• How and when will we promote them?
• How will we engage the YSA in inviting their friends?
• What will we do with social media?
• What events will we run and who will be responsible?
• What will be our target groups (progressing students, recent converts)?
• How will we involve the full-time missionaries?
Note: Your gathering plan may be as simple as allocating a time early enough before Gathering Weeks to come together as a leadership team and answer these questions and make more detailed plans for the specific gathering week.
How will teachers and leaders work with full-time missionaries to help recent converts and friends come to institute?
What will we do to foster sharing the gospel through institute?
• Create a welcoming culture in seminary and institute classes.
• Create a culture where students invite friends to join them in their classes.
• Assign peer/class buddy to friends of the church or new converts.
• Link with young adult leaders to coordinate support for friends of the church or new converts.
• Attend Stake councils (as invited) to share updates on the progress of new converts or inform the council about progress of the missionary culture in the classes.
• Join in chat group with other teachers to share successes and ideas with each other.
How will we ensure the seminary graduates from 2025 will be invited and supported to progress into institute this year?
Will we run an I-Week experience for 2026 seminary graduates (first or second week of Sept holidays)? Students then continue attending institute for the rest of the year.
• What will our I-Week look like?
• Who will be responsible for its planning and implementation?
• Will we run the Workshop for Progressing Students and who will run it?
• How will we work with seminary leaders and classes?
