“Stake-based Institute programs generally focus on the needs of non-college student young single adults (YSAs). They emphasise attendance and learning over earning credit. Individual students may still choose to complete requirements to obtain credit for Institute graduation or credit that will transfer to a Church university.
The local Coordinator should work closely with stake leaders to assist them with the implementation of stake-based Institute programs.
Stake Institute classes generally follow the same standard requirements as campus programs:
1. The teacher is a full- or part-time employee, a stake Institute of Religion teacher, or a missionary with an S&I assignment.
2. An approved institute course is taught.
3. S&I-approved curriculum materials are used.
4. The class meets for the prescribed amount of time.
5. Enrolment records and class roll are completed for each class.
6. The class does not meet on Sunday or Monday evening unless the Church Board of Education has given specific approval.
A local Coordinator should assist stake leaders as they organise a stake Institute program to best meet the needs of their young adults. The following two options are available for stake Institute programs:”
Course credit may only be transferred to a Church university if the teacher has at least a bachelor's degree or an equivalent approved by the area director
