WISE (Worldwide Institute and Seminary Enrolments) is an internet-based student record system, which allows teachers, priesthood leaders and S&I coordinators to see the progress of students enrolled in Seminary and Institute. All teachers are asked to enter student attendance work in WISE each day.
PLEASE ENTER YOUR CLASS ROLLS EVERY DAY IN WISE
Online training videos in The Administration tab of this website will help you administer your class in WISE2 for the following:
Marking Attendance
Recording and Tracking Student Reading
Accessing Student Makeup Reports
Seminary Class Audits
End of Term Admin
To use WISE and Canvas, you will need the following:
Church Account. Without this username and password, you will not be able to get into WISE
Your Stake Clerk needs to enter you into LCR (The church’s membership record system) as a seminary teacher under ‘Callings’.
You will need a computer with an internet browser. Internet Explorer 8 or higher usually works. If you have problems, use Firefox or Google Chrome instead. These latter two browsers can be downloaded free.
NOTE: Send or email a list of the students attending your class in the first week to your Administrative Assistant. She will then set up your class in WISE.
Preparing for the End of the Term/Year
At the completion of each seminary term teachers are invited to do the following:
Complete all marking of student attendance in WISE on the last day of the term.
Identify students who are close to completion and encourage them to complete make up work.
Ensure student reading is accurate in WISE.
Complete the Credit tab in WISE for your class.
Instructions on how to do this are available under the Admin Training in Canvas.
Submitting Makeup work numbers
When a term is closed, recording makeup work for all students must be submitted to your stake seminary supervisor or to the S&I Office. This information will then be updated in WISE. All makeup work must be submitted prior to graduations in order for a student to receive recognition at the graduation ceremony. Please be specific in providing the total number of days made up.
Note: Submission of large amounts of makeup work at once should be avoided. Stake Supervisors should review large amounts to ensure that the quality of the work merits credit.
