WISE (Worldwide Institute and Seminary Enrolments) is an internet-based student record system, which allows teachers, priesthood leaders and supervisors to see the progress of students enrolled in Seminary and Institute. All teachers are asked to enter student attendance in WISE each day.
SUPERVISORS ARE ASKED TO CHECK CLASS ROLLS EVERY WEEK IN WISE TO ENSURE ROLLS ARE MARKED. Please follow up with teachers if their class rolls are not marked. Online training videos in Canvas under the Admin Training button will help teachers administer classes in WISE.
Leaders will be provided with the following admin reports:
• Seminary Attendance and Potential Reports – provided monthly to help inform ministering efforts
• Seminary Graduate Reports – provided regularly to help review graduate progress
• Makeup Reports – provided each term to help teachers follow up on student makeup.
• Final Certificate Reports – provided annually to confirm student credit.
Parents must sign a parental agreement when registering their student for seminary the first time and should confirm the graduation year of the student.
• Ensure all legal agreements have been completed in mySeminary – Audit Legal Agreements in first month of seminary.
• Confirm the seminary graduation year on each students’ registration in WISE – Audit Graduation Year in first month of seminary.
• Parent Registrations do not enrol students in a class. This must be done manually by S&I personnel. Please ensure teachers email the S&I office with a list of any missing student names and their school year as soon as possible after the start of term.
At the completion of each seminary term, supervisors are asked to ensure teachers have completed the following:
• Marked all student attendance in WISE accurately by the last day of the term.
• Updated the student reading tab in WISE.
• Updated the Credit tab in WISE.
Instructions on how to do this are available under the Admin Training – End of Term Procedures
Makeup Work
When a term is closed, recording makeup work for all students must be submitted to the S&I Office or updated on the student transcript. Teachers are responsible for makeup work, but supervisors should ensure policy is followed (makeup policy is in the STIG).
