The bishopric, youth leaders, and quorum and class presidencies encourage every youth to participate fully in seminary. The bishopric encourages parents to register their children each year before seminary classes start. Seminary teachers can also help encourage parents to register their students. Stake seminary leaders train ward leaders and teachers and encourage registration to begin by December for the following year. Supervisors will need to have confirmed stake classes and buildings with the S&I office before December for the following year.
The Seminary Registration Agreement is a legal requirement. Parents are required to consent to it only once during the time their child or children are in seminary.
2. When parents or guardians sign or agree to the consent, they legally agree to allow Seminaries and Institutes of Religion (S&I) to track their child’s or children’s seminary progress using WISE.
3. Parents who are not members of the Church will complete registration with the local seminary program after they have secured a Church Account at account.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
4. Potential seminary students are youth ages 14–18 who will be in the 9th–12th grade (or equivalent). Exceptions are made for students with disabilities.
5. Seminary registration each year invites parents to select or update the following:
o Graduation year(s) for the child or children participating in seminary
o Building location or online program where the child or children will be participating in seminary
o Contact information for the parents
6. Seminary students can update their personal contact information online at mySeminary.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
7. When and where possible, we invite all parents and guardians to use mySeminary.ChurchofJesusChrist.org to register their child or children for seminary and to monitor student progress through the program
