Mastering the doctrine in the doctrinal mastery scripture passages, includes:

1. Knowing and explaining the doctrine 

2. Memorizing references and key scripture phrases

3. Applying the doctrine

To do this well, students will need regular and repeated exposure to the doctrinal mastery scripture passages. Doctrinal mastery reviews provide that opportunity by taking five minutes every lesson to review the doctrinal mastery passages and the doctrine they contain. Teachers can be creative in the way they do this, however they should be sure to meet the above objectives and avoid compromising lesson time. Five minutes every lesson is the preferred approach.
